Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
- Will the webbing chafe my dog?
- No. Hexaline webbing is soft, smooth and gentle on your dog's skin and coat. It does not trap dirt or moisture.
- Is the harness stitched or only riveted?
- The harness is assembled with strong, long stainless steel rivets measuring 13 mm in length. We do not use stitching at the joints.
- Can the rivets come loose?
- No. We use specially reinforced, 13 mm long rivets fitted using a press. When used correctly, they do not loosen or fall out.
- How do I choose the right size?
- The measuring instructions and size chart are at the top of the product page, next to the size selector. If you are unsure, please contact us.
- Are the rivets and hardware rust-resistant?
- Yes. All rivets and metal hardware are made from stainless steel, which resists corrosion and stands up to everyday use.
- Is the harness suitable for rain and mud?
- Yes. Hexaline webbing does not absorb water or odours. After a walk, simply rinsing the harness under running water is usually enough.
Why a third strap?
The third strap helps prevent your dog from backing out of the harness.
With a standard Y-shaped harness, a dog may try to pull its front legs back and slip out backwards. The additional strap sits behind the rib cage, where the dog's body is narrower, making it much harder to back out.
- 1. Extra security
- The third strap provides an additional point of restraint when the dog tries to back out of the harness.
- 2. Better suited to sighthounds
- Sighthounds have a slender build, a deep chest and a narrow waist, which makes it easier for them to slip out of ordinary harnesses.
- 3. Helpful for anxious dogs
- It is suitable for dogs that may panic at loud noises, sudden movements or in unfamiliar surroundings.
No harness offers a 100% guarantee in every situation. Safety also depends on choosing the correct size, adjusting the straps and fastening every buckle.
Which dogs is it for?
- Sighthounds and dogs with a slender build
- Whippets, greyhounds, Italian greyhounds, salukis, borzois and other dogs that can more easily back out of ordinary harnesses.
- Anxious and easily startled dogs
- For dogs that may panic at noise, traffic, fireworks or a sudden tug on the lead.
- Adopted dogs
- A good choice for the first few weeks of walks, when the dog is still unfamiliar with its surroundings and may try to escape.
- Active walks
- Suitable for the city, woodland, trips away and places where your dog needs extra security.
Important: the harness is not designed for dog pulling sports or pulling heavy loads.
How do I care for the harness?
- Simply rinse it
- After a walk, simply rinse the harness under running water. Mud and dust do not cling to the webbing's surface.
- No machine washing needed
- Water or a mild soap is enough to clean it. There is no need to machine wash it.
- Quick drying
- The webbing does not absorb water, so the harness dries very quickly and is ready for the next walk.
- No unpleasant odours
- The material does not absorb moisture or odours, keeping the harness fresh even with frequent use.
